This is IT sp. z o.o. and This is World LLC, headquartered in Warsaw and Palo Alto (USA), have closed a funding round led by RIO ASI sp. z o.o., with participation from Maciej Włodarczyk and Zbigniew Klonowski.
Founded in 2024 by Maciej Kawecki, the This is IT channel is a unique place on Poland's media landscape, where the world's most distinguished scientists – including Nobel Prize and Turing Award laureates – seek to answer questions about the nature of reality and the future of humanity.
The project is transforming into a documentary and podcast studio, developed in Palo Alto and Warsaw, creating documentary films about individuals whose courage has changed science.
In 2025, the English-language podcast channel This is World was launched, gaining tens of thousands of subscriptions within a few months. Its further development required increased company funding.
Starting in 2026, the This is World: Venture & Talent Studio project launches – an accelerator platform for talents that will connect young scientists and engineers with development opportunities in Polish and international AI startups.
Venture & Talent Studio aims to encourage the most talented young Poles to choose an innovative and startup path in the era of the AI revolution, with development opportunities in Poland and abroad.
The funding will enable This is IT & This is World to develop documentary production and directly support the most talented young Polish scientific and startup talents.
